may the land (2025)

10-11 May 2025 at the Goodman Arts Centre Blackbox

A group of Yale-NUS College students grapple with what they have to keep from their time at the school after it shuts, and if this blip in time matters. The days come and pass the way the trees shed leaves; they graduate and grow up navigating the larger world. What remains still returns to the earth, into our flesh, and into the back of our minds where we can only try to grasp.

What do we choose to remember and what do we let slip away? May the Land (2025) questions if it's ever possible to master the art of losing.

may the land (2021)

May the Land (2021) was held on 26 Nov 2021 to an audience of about 70 students, staff and faculty. It was a site-specific performance situated at the heart of Yale-NUS, on the landscape of College Green. It responds to the announcement of Yale-NUS’ dissolution—an appeal to the faithful land amidst tumult and confusion through physical connection with the landscape, a vibrant celebration of the space and architecture in dance, poetry and light.

Elle plays part of the ensemble.
